Saudi Culture

Saudi Culture
I choose five things I think they are interesting and very important in my culture. The firs thing is Islam, We have two Eids to celebrate. The first one is after Ramadan which is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. All Muslims adult have to fast in it from the sunrise to the sunset, except some cases such as patient and some travelers. We usually do not sleep in that day because in Ramadan the stores and restaurant open to 4 am so in Ramadan we usually sleep after the sunrise and wake up 4 or 5 hours far from sunset. That why it is hard to sleep the day before Eid al fiter to wake up early. Some people sleep the whole day! I do not like it I think that is cheating we have to fast at least 5 hours. The another Eid is Eid Al Hajj it is after Alhajj. I need more than 5 papers to explain that, simply it when Muslims done Alhajj in Makah.
The second is Dressing. Women must wear abaya and hijab when she go out. Abaya is a black tall dress with long sleeves. In the past, it used to be black in black but nowadays it can be colorful. Hijab is like a scarf women use it to cover their hair. Some women cover their face too using the hijab or a cloth that covers the face as a part of sartorial hijab called niqab. Official dress of men is a long white dress with a scarf on their head called shemagh or ghutrah. The different is ghutrah is white and shemagh is red with white.
The part I think everyone love Food in my city we have many meals that a lot of Saudi do not know such as Kabesa, Aseda, Sago, Afosa, Salona, Mahmos and more. Usually, my grandmother cooks them. Moreover about food but now with family. In Saudi Arabia Family values is one of the most important things for me family is the most important thing in my life. In my family usually, we have lunch together on Friday. After lunch, we talk about anything we want while we enjoy Arabic coffee and desserts. The last thing is Greeting, both men and women shook hands and kisses. As Muslims Men can not shake women hand if she is not his mother, sisters, aunts, grandmother, waif and his mother in low. The same thing for women, simply women can not touch any men she can marry so she can shake her father, brother, uncle, grandfather husband hand and her father in law.
Those were the five culture things I chose. I hope that I explained them clearly and you know more now about Saudi culture
