My Reflection of Interdiction to POP Culture

My Reflection of Interdiction to POP Culture

To know what is Pop culture we have to know what is pop and what is culture. What is Pop Culture reading shows us that pop is a shortcut of popularity and it means " of the people". Culture points to the body of beliefs, behaviors, values, and thoughts that influence us every day.

Moreover, we looked for fads from the 50s to 2010s, pop star presentations, team projects (American popular culture) and pop culture studies. Also, every Monday we start our class with red Eye.

What are the skills we used them?. We read What is Pop Culture, we thought about the important events in American culture and watched them such as Super bowl and Oscar, we have done different researches like pop stars and influential objects, technology, person, music, fashion, events, TV shows and movies. Also, we did two presentations, one was individual and the other one was teamwork.

In the last 4 weeks, I gain much information and I tried to improve my expository skills. I learned that "Pop culture is made up of all the places, people, objects, and events and they can be real or imagined" for example, objects like, Barbie dolls, rap songs, TV shows, I-phones and clothing and Events like, 9/11, the Olympics, the Super Bowl, Thanksgiving dinner, or high school proms and more. I also learned what is the difference between fads and trends. Moreover, I knew that energy drink was popular in the 2000s and The Titanic was popular in90s. Furthermore, from Pop star's presentation I knew that Michel Jordan, is Nike brand face, Barack Obama, was born in Kenya and Steve Jobs, listed as the inventor on 342 lists in the USA and from my pop star which was Angelina Jolie I found that before the 2000s she had never thought about herself as a mother. As well I learned from pop stars as I learned from American popular culture. I knew that yoga was a fad from the 70s. Moreover, from 70s Superman is the most expensive movie. One information I really like was that the DNA discovered in the 50s. I like when my classmates told us information because I keep remembering the interesting information.

My aha moment was when I recognized why I know a lot of things about singer or athletes even though I have no interest in music or sport. I understand that I have this information from people around me because of the Pop culture.

I did not know that popular culture is a mirror of our life and it shows all popular things.
